Hasselblad extends functionality of H4D System

Hasselblad continues to improve the H4D System with two new HC lenses and a firmware upgrade.

  • HC 50mm-II f/3.5 - The updated optical design provides higher resolution and more even performance over the image area. Close range performance has also
    been improved to deliver better performance while maintaining its minimum object-to-image plane distance of 0.6m.
  • HC 120mm-II Macro f/4.0 - Thanks to its updated optical design, the lens offers a number of improvements including higher resolution and better close range performance. Importantly - especially for macro work - the new lens offers improved color correction, with cleaner un-sharp areas that are free from color cast.
  • Firmware update includes Electronic Spirit Level for use with the HTS 1.5 Tilt/Shift lens adapter and LCD preview of tethered shots on camera display, including GIL (Graphic Information Locator) GPS support for the H4D-60.

As Photokina draws nearer, all major companies and teams are preparing to present their latest developments from R&D and improvements to existing professional imaging solutions.

With the global imaging market in recovery from tremendous external pressure, this could be the most influential Photokina to determine the future leaders of the industry. We have been hearing rumors and innuendo about Hasselblad and PhaseOne - the two developers in the medium-format sector - and expect exciting news in October.

How open is open? It depends on the recipient of the message - photographers behave no differently than other people and hear what they want to hear. For those who choose to listen, important insights can be gained this year regarding completeness of solutions, such as extensive lens collection and availability, and creative solutions to photographic obstacles - but that is not all...
