These instructions will use the firmware R249 (released by Hasselblad on 3/23/09) compatible with the H3DII-31 as an example. It is important to always consult the readme file for pertinent information for each firmware release.

Here is why: "This firmware update is intended for Phocus users only and can be downloaded via Phocus version 1.1 Mac, 1.0.2 Windows or later."  Updating via FlexColor is not possible.

Step 1 - Download the firmware file (here) if you have not registered, please do so - it only takes a moment and you have access for all future software and firmware notifications.

1. Unzip the downloaded file.
2. Make sure your camera is turned on.
3. Connect your complete camera, inclusive the capture unit, lens and viewfinder to Phocus.
3. Go to "File" and then "Update Firmware" and locate the desired firmware package (.cim) on your computer, and click "Update".
4. Follow the instructions provided from the software carefully! Do not switch off the camera during the update process, unless specifically requested by the Phocus software.
5. When the update has been finalized, please check that the firmware has been updated and that your equipment works ok.
